Meet the team at My Accountant LTD

Andrew Leggate
Director

LL.B FCMA FCA CGMA

Chartered Accountant

Andrew read Law at The University of Glasgow, before moving into industry to study accountancy with a large international telecoms company. Further industrial experience was gained in other international organisations in alcohol and health-based products and services. ( There is no connection between the move from alcohol to health!)

After nearly ten years in industry, Andrew took his skills into public practice and has been here ever since. In his time in various roles -  sole trader, partner in a larger practice, and now director of Leggate Associates, he has had wide and varied exposure to most aspects of personal and business tax “from the cradle to the grave” – setting up businesses, advising businesses and, from time to time, assisting with the recovery, restructuring or closure of failing businesses.

Within Leggate Associates, Andrew is responsible to all aspects of personal and business tax, business planning and advice and anything else technical or weird that comes along.

Running a business like Leggate Associates does not leave much time for much else in life, but you may find him looking after the sheep he keeps to mow the lawn, hill walking, occasionally kayaking, and always looking for new places to explore.  In recent years, he has responded to the call of the yoga mat, practicing (but failing to perfect) yoga every day and has been a dedicated vegan for many years.  This is about as dull as an accountant can get, but fortunately there is an every burgeoning population of grandchildren who need entertained from time to time.

Joanne Leggate
FMAAT ATT (Fellow)

Joanne (“Jo” to most people) has had a wide and varied career and life. Initially qualifying as a nurse, she subsequently dipped her toes into the cold world of accountancy before deciding to emigrate to the warmer shores of California. On her return after nine years, in order to keep herself warm , she picked up accountancy again and has never looked back.

Jo is the details brain of the business. While Andrew might concentrate on what some might call the “airy fairy” aspects of tax and business planning, Jo deals much more with the nitty gritty ensuring that every clients books are spic and span at all times. She is an expert at mending broken bookkeeping and faulty accounts and putting clients back on the straight and narrow when they drift away.

That all ties in with her love of handicrafts and having grand schemes for her garden. Jo loves the outdoors and on holiday will often be found hillwalking or taking long walks along coastal paths.

Jo is also a keen yogi as well as also being a dedicated vegan.

Claire Khodabukus
Executive Assistant and Payroll Manager

Prior to her time with Leggate Associates, Claire was an Executive PA to a senior partner in a large City law firm.

Claire is the go-to person at Leggate Associates, dealing with virtually all general client communications as well as managing the payroll for the company.

In her spare time ( which is not a lot, considering she also has two young daughters) Claire loves playing and coaching netball, as well as enjoying almost any sort of live sports or music events.

Kate Millard
Accountant

After leaving the University of Reading, having read Business Administration,  Kate started her career as an accountant, eventually ( and fortunately for us) ending up at Leggate Associates.

Kate looks after her own portfolio of clients within Leggate Associates and has a strong bond with the clients she works with.

With three young children, Kate has no spare time at all. However, occasionally she does find time to go camping and likes to keep fit by running. Mostly away from her children.

Zoey Taylor
Accountant

Zoey has worked within office management for 10 years and has 8 years bookkeeping and accounting experience.

She has a young son, enjoys family time, keeping fit at the gym and travelling.
